PROPOSED BOND ISSUE AND TAX LEVY

COVINGTON EXEMPTED VILLAGE SCHOOL DISTRICT

A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage

Shall bonds be issued by the Covington Exempted Village School District to pay the local share of school construction under the State of Ohio Classroom Facilities Assistance Program in the principal amount of $12,561,794.00 to be repaid annually over a maximum period of 38 years and an annual levy of property taxes to be made outside of the ten-mill limitation, estimated by the county auditor to average over the bond repayment period 7 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.70 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, to pay the annual debt charges on the bonds and to pay debt charges on any notes issued in anticipation of the bonds?

Shall an annual levy of taxes to benefit the Covington Exempted Village School District, the proceeds of which shall be used to pay the costs of maintaining the classroom facilities included in the project at a rate of 2.5 mills for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a continuing period of time?

The Miami County Board of Elections is accepting written applications until Noon, Saturday, 31 July 2010, for Absentee Ballots to be mailed for the 03 August 2010 SPECIAL ELECTION.

A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT MUST INCLUDE:

  •    Voting residence address
  •    Mailing address to which the ballot will be mailed
  •    YOUR SIGNATURE
    • FOR ID PURPOSES ONLY: BIRTH DATE AND OHIO DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER or LAST 4 NUMBERS OF YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER (NOT BOTH)

ALL COMPLETED ABSENTEE BALLOTS MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE MIAMI COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS BY 7:30 pm ON ELECTION DAY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF OVERSEAS MILITARY AND CIVILIAN BALLOTS WITH A POSTMARK NO LATER THAN ELECTION DAY AND RECEIVED WITHIN 10 DAYS AFTER THE ELECTION.
