A poll worker is a person who assists the Board of Elections at the Polling Place on Election Day, by giving Registered Voters their Ballot to exercise their right to vote. Each Precinct must have two Democratic and two Republican Pollworkers. A person not affiliated with any political party may serve in either a Democratic or a Republican Pollworker position. If you are interested in being a Poll Worker, please call the Board of Elections to set up a time to sign up. You must come into our office and sign up for payroll. EligibilityYou must:LocationsYou will also be asked if you would be willing to work in an area outside of your polling location.We always need people who are willing to "float" to other precincts. CompensationTuesday, Election Day, 6:00 a.m. to 8:00pm.Precinct (regular) Judges receive $85.00 per election. The Presiding (head) Judge receives $95.00 per election, plus a mileage stipend for picking up the precinct supplies prior to election day and returning all voting material after the close of polls on election night. All training sessions are paid a minimum of $10.00 per session.
